A Bit About My Cabin in the Mountains

I spent a good portion my youth abroad and by the age of 22 I had lived abroad for 16 years. After a tour abroad in another country, my family would return to the United States for a period of a few years. During this time, my brother and I would spend much our free time backpacking in Shenandoah National Park. We often discussed, as a childhood dream, building a cabin in the mountains near the Park in order to be more permanently close to nature. This was a dream that I fulfilled many years later, one of few dreams I held onto since childhood. Five years ago, I found the perfect cabin after searching for nearly ten years. I now spend most of my here living in the cabin, at 3,000 feet, photographing nature and volunteering for the Potomac and Appalachian Trail Club. When I'm not at the cabin, I spend time traveling to National Parks within the U.S. Since I've lived and traveled abroad extensively, my focus more recently has been to document the beauty of America's natural world.
